MOVING ON-LINE - We regret to inform you that About Sight will be closing its Glenferrie Rd doors at the end of 2022.
It’s been a 4 year struggle to regain lost ground due to :
- Anti-Competitive corporate optical & corporate health-fund sales funnelling
- Aggressive corporate pricing tactics
- Eroded customer loyalty due to the previous Held Family (and associated trusts) ownership.
Despite our best efforts to survive, we cannot continue on without further financial and emotional hardship.
We thank those of you who have supported us over the past 4 years. We have enjoyed showcasing a more independent & sustainable offer.
We understand many of you already wish to follow us wherever we end up, and hope to retain you as friends, and continue to support your vision into the future.
What does this mean for you?
- SALES & SERVICE - We WILL continue online to sell spectacle frames & lenses, Re-lens old spectacles and sunglasses, service & repair. (https://www.aboutsight.shop)

EYE-EXAMS - We WILL NOT be able to complete eye-exams, and as such refer you to a local independent optometrist Peter Merrett (https://www.petermerrett.com.
au ) Patient files will be stored securely and ONLY provided upon email request from you (before 31st March 2023) EMAIL info@aboutsight.com.au
- SUSTAINABILITY - We are looking for a new business to take over our Coffee Pod & Spectacle Recycling. In the mean time, please refer to https://www.terracycle.com/en-AU & https://planetark.org/
